Linear footage is the primary pricing driver. Each additional linear foot of cabinetry adds $250 to $900 depending on configuration and material. A 10-foot run costs roughly twice a 5-foot run. The per-linear-foot rate typically decreases slightly on runs over 12 feet due to batch efficiency.

Combining upper and lower cabinets nearly doubles the cost versus uppers alone because base cabinets require more sheet goods (24-inch depth versus 12-inch for uppers), stronger carcases, and more installation time to level and scribe to the floor. A base cabinet run costs 30 to 50 percent more per linear foot than an upper run.

A 24-inch-wide floor-to-ceiling utility tower adds $900 to $2,500 to the project depending on the material, interior configuration (fixed shelves, pull-out hamper, hanging rod), and whether it includes a door. Utility towers add significant visual mass and are often the most-used storage unit in the room.

Upgrading from painted MDF to paint-grade maple adds 20 to 30 percent. Upgrading to white oak for a natural finish adds 60 to 80 percent.
